Characteristics of the "1885 Chianti Classico" wine
- Grapes: Sangiovese 100%
- Vineyard:: the grapes produced for this Chianti classico are produced on the farm in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga
- Soil: small surface but great variety, generally loamy-loamy with the presence of marl and tuff
- Exposure: from south to southwest to west
- Altitude: about 350 m asl

- Vinification: 20% of the grapes in the cellar are not crushed and de-stemmed, while the rest is as in traditional vinification, the fermentation of the must carried out in contact with the skins and the maceration lasts from 15 to 35 days
- Aging: After racking and partial clarification, the wine remains for at least 12 months, partly in barrique, partly in tonneaux, partly in 1500 liter barrels and partly in stainless steel containers Aging: After bottling, the wine is aged for at least 6 months in the bottle lying in the silence and darkness of the cellar before being placed on the market
Organoleptic characteristics:
in general it has some characteristics that may be more or less marked and different from one vintage to another. The color is intense ruby red, with garnet reflections.
The broad and intense aroma, with pleasant notes of ripe fruit and pleasant sensations of licorice and cinnamon. The flavor is dry, decisive, full of great structure and excellent tannic texture.
Possible combination:
structured wine suitable for tasty and important dishes especially meat. Also good with aged cheeses and weighted consumption between meals.
Storage:
at a constant temperature and in the absence of light and sound.
